Let's Learn More About Ben

“I’ve had the right people in my corner throughout it. A lot of what I have accomplished has been because of them, so I am appreciative of my parents and coaches along the way.
I’ve had some setbacks in my career including several injuries as well as some surgeries along the way. Everyone deals with highs and lows with confidence in their ability to perform their trade and I’ve fallen into slumps along the way as well.
Some of the best moments have come during college, winning national championships, signing to a team in the NFL, and then signing to my home state team.”
“I have always loved sports and have always wanted to maximize the abilities and opportunities God has given me, which I can do through the game of football.”
1. Never let the negative words of others bring you down, because they are usually jealous of something you have.
2. Always give it your best and know “why” you want to play sports. Ask yourself what you are looking to get out of it.
3. There is no substitution for hard work! Hard work and sacrifice are why the best players are the best players!
“I love spending time at the lake or on the golf course. I have also spent some time recently trying to learn more about cryptocurrency and NFTs.”
“Balance. Knowing when to take things home with me and when to leave them at the facility or “work” is something that I am still working on for myself. It can be hard to do when you have a bad day or when you just can’t get bad thoughts out of your mind. Sometimes just getting away from work and taking a break is necessary in order to come back and continue with a positive mindset later on. If I feel I need to do more outside of work sometimes I will go and take a yoga class or get a massage just to get my mind away from football for a while.”
“They can be a really good thing for you or a really big distraction! Each player is pretty much on their own to do research, trust people, and do what they want with their money. There are a lot of horror stories of professional athletes going broke when they get done playing because they managed their money poorly.
I wouldn’t say I was surprised but players don’t always see the amounts of money that people think they are signing for. Yes, we do make considerably more than the average wage in the U.S. but after taxes and other fees we have to pay, it’s a lot less than the number you see on TV.”
“I would say my position coach in college, Tyler Roehl. We have a very close relationship and he is a big reason as to why I am where I am at now, because of how much he pushed me and the opportunities he provided me with.”
